Assess the Knowledge of Medical Students About HTLV-1 in Mashhad University of Medical Science

Introduction: Human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) is known to be endemic in the population of northeastern Iran. This study was conducted with aim investigating knowledge and attitude medical students Mashhad University Medical Sciences about HTLV-1 virus.Material Methods: The present a descriptive-analytical that School from April June 2014. research included all studying at time (307 people). tool data collection questionnaire including 4 parts demographic characteristics, amount information resources used, level awareness infection measuring towards infection. analyzed form descriptive statistics using SPSS 16.0 software.Results: A total 271 people responded (response rate: 88/27). Among participants, 130 were male 141 female. majority students, 161 got their classroom 157 natives Mashhad. obtained description questions percentage correct answers showed students' this average an score 16.66 out 40 points, reported as 68.11 level.Conclusion: results target group medium-low, medium-high. Also, there direct relationship between year entering university university, which reports slope change low.
